Join the club! That's the story of being a mom. If you're a working
mom, going out into the field everyday, it's even more exhausting for
you and the children since they have to go to childcare. Stay-at-home
moms have it rough as well, trying to figure out how to manage the house
and entertain children throughout the day. But I believe that despite
the exhaustion, there's honestly nothing else out there more rewarding
than being a parent and experiencing the love of little people. Each
day with them is such a blessing and we should never take them nor the
times shared for granted. There are so many people out there that want
children and cannot have them for whatever reason. There are so many
people out there that have lost children and would give anything to have
them back. There are so many children out there being abused and just
want someone to love and stand up for them. When times get exhausting,
the best advice I can give is this:
#1 - Pray - ask God to give you the strength, energy and wisdom you need to care for your children
#2 - Seek out other moms or friends to vent to (my mom is my venting board - love her to pieces)
#3 - Crying might sound awful but sometimes you get a significant release from all the stress that builds up
#4 - Sex (Yes, married people have sex and good sex too) :-)
#5 - Try a staycation or a daycation - sometimes the little ones go
wild because they just want to spend time with their parents. Go
somewhere (theme park, Chuck E. Cheese, movies, etc.) or just stay at
home and dedicate the day to them
#6 - Couple time - maybe you and hubby just need time alone to talk
about parenting strategies or to just be alone with each other
#7 - "Me" time - Remember ME? Massage, Pedicure, Manicure, even a
weekend getaway. Sometimes we just need to get away and refresh!
I wish us all the best in our coping strategies. Moms are stronger
than we think, sometimes we just need a little bit of support. That
little bit can take us a long way.
